FAQs

What is Neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity is a term to describe that we all think, learn and process information differently! Those differences are a natural form of human variation - much like humans have different eye, hair and skin colour. Neurodiversity celebrates there is no right or wrong way to think. Some neurotypes under the neurodiversity umbrella include autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia/DCD, OCD, Tourettes, Anxiety, Acquired Neurodiversity (from poor health), PTSD, Complex PTSD, and Poor Mental Health.

What is investing in neurodiversity important?

We have ostracized individuals with characteristics of neurodivergence, causing more barriers in education, social settings, and employment.

Research from the national statistic society, shows that 20% of the public are neurodivergent. 1 in 5. There is a high probability you already have a neurodiverse workforce. There is also a rise of individuals seeking and receiving a neurodivergent diagnosis, therefore employers must understand how and what support can be given.

How will training impact me?

It will help you understand neurodivergence and how to support and enable a neurodiverse workforce. It will give you the right tools to confidently implement neuroinclusive practices, understanding why they are needed.

How will training impact my team?

Being neuroinclusive benefits everyone, regardless of neurostatus. Neuroinclusive aids in clearer communication and understanding of each others preferences and triggers. It enables managers and leaders to understand how different neurotypes need specific support, with the tools to implement them. This is training outside of traditional management training and conflict resolution.

I don’t work with anyone who seems neurodivergent. Why should I attend? (Or why should our business invest – potentially reframe for businesses looking at consultancy options)

Firstly, with the statistics of 1 in 5 individuals being neurodivergent, it is very likely you already have a neurodiverse team, and the customers or supply chain workers you engage with are likely to have neurodivergent individuals.

Create a more inclusive hiring environment today

Supporting neurodivergent candidates can be challenging, and many hesitate to ask for the support they need. A study by Birkbeck University revealed that 65%* of neurodivergent employees fear direct discrimination if they disclose their condition.
